The Responsive Subject: from OOOOOO to FFFFFF

A book launch and a series of readings through possible colour codes

ICA (London), Sunday 1 May, 4 to 6

1 May 2011

To launch The Responsive Subject, a publication produced in relation to the homonymus exhibition that took place at MuZee (Ostend, BE) and that presented Belgium artist Guy Mees (1935 - 2003) in relation to works by Gyan Panchal, Ian Kiaer and João Gusmão & Pedro Paiva, FormContent organises an afternoon of performances and readings with the contributors of the book (Andrea Büttner, Michael Dean, Beatrice Gibson & Will Holder, Andrew Renton, Nick Thurston, Nanni Balestrini, Ruth Höflich, Bridget Penney, Tom Benson, Simone Menegoi, Philomene Pirecki and Shaan Syed).

Thinking through the conceptual backbone of Guy Mees’ interest in organisation and coding, the various contributors will reorganise and imagine their texts through different systems and colour charts instigated by FormContent.
